2026 General Election Voter Guide — Johnston County
Early Voting: Thursday, October 15 – Saturday, October 31 (ends 3:00 p.m.)
Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026 — polls open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Voter Registration Deadline: Friday, October 9 at 5:00 p.m.
During early voting you may vote at any early voting site in Johnston County, and same-day registration is available. On Election Day you must vote at your assigned precinct. Bring a photo ID.

Constitutional Amendments
Three statewide amendments appear at the end of this ballot. Each is a yes-or-no vote to change the North Carolina Constitution.
- Photo ID for all voters Would extend the photo identification requirement to every voter, including those voting by mail — not just voters casting ballots in person.
- Maximum income tax rate of 3.5% Would bar the General Assembly from raising the state income tax rate above three and one-half percent.
- Property tax levy limit Would require limits on how much local governments — counties, cities, and towns — can increase property taxes.
