There are 155,000 wounded Veterans in North Carolina.
The No Veterans Left Behind Act is sponsored by Speaker of the House Tim Moore (R-Cleveland), Rep. George Cleveland (R-Onslow), and Rep. Charlie Miller (R-Brunswick). It helps crisis intervention & services for service members suffering from mental health issues and substance abuse.
Specifically, the legislation creates a pilot program for several Military and Veteran heavy counties in North Carolina to improve and expand training for local law enforcement and first responders on dealing with Veteran-specific crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and available resources at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Republicans in the NC General Assembly will always fight to ensure the best treatment and care for our Veterans.
